The picture below is but a small portion of Turtleville. It is the basking portion. the lamp to the left is a UVB/UVA light to supplement the natural sunlight. Windows filter out the Ultraviolet rays turtles need to thrive. When temperatures don't allow us to open the windows and doors to let in the natural light we are foced to supplement with the rather pricey special lamps. The pond to the right is the 80 gallon 'dining room.' the pond to the left is the main "Living Room." the caves underneath the rocks that the turtles are basking on are the main sleeping areas.
During Thanksgiving on '08 we will be rescuing two turtles from owners who have come to realize just how much work it takes to keep these guys healthy and happy. So a new pond has been designed and construction is due to begin immediately. There should be more pictures by Christmas of '08.
